This morning, I got a text message saying this:"CHOLERA ALERT: Prevent cholera; avoid shaking hands at mass gatherings, particularly weddings, church meetings & funerals. - UNICEF & Min of Health"
Cholera in Zimbabwe has claimed over 2500 lives and infected over 30.000 people already, while it should be an easily curable disease.
This is already the second message we received like this, the first one in December 2008 to warn us of the outbreak and advising us to boil water. I must say, at first I though it was bizzar to get this sort of message, but hey, it is a good way to reach a lot of people, and it is definitely better then getting commercial texts to drink coke or where which sales are going on....
